Hamble Airfield 

 

Hamble Airfield is owned by Persimmon Homes who would dearly love to have the gravel removed from this site as this would pave the way for  them achieving their goal of developing the Airfield with mass housing (estimated 2000 homes) which would choke the peninsula and ruin the village of Hamble and the surrounding area as we know it. Current planning guidelines insist that any potential development site where gravel is in evidence must first have this removed before building can commence. However, the Airfield is a greenfield site and is also listed as ‘local gap’ with absolutely no plans for development now or in the future so we see no reason for the gravel to be extracted now.
